Boiling Pot
Frying Pan
Knife
Tongs
- 1 pound fresh green beans (the ones you need to snap)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves finely minced garlic (3 teaspoons)
- 6 cups water (to blanch/boil beans)
Clean your beans. On each bean, take of the tips on each side of the bean and discard. Keep the snapped bean by putting it into the pot you are going to boil. I normally keep the bag the beans come in to dispose of the tips while I'm snapping them.
Add 6 cups of water (or just enough to completely cover your beans) and bring to a boil. Once your beans are at a rolling boil, count 3 minutes and turn off the burner.
Drain the beans.
In a frying pan, melt 4 tbsp of butter. Add your salt and wait for butter to come to a sizzle. Once you hear the sizzle add your garlic and mix around in the butter for 30 seconds. Immediately add the beans to the butter and garlic and swirl them around in the mixture. Sautee the beans for about 4 minutes and and turn off the heat. Make sure that the garlic and butter is coating each bean.
Serve with your favorite meal!
