What do you when you harvest your very last fresh mango of the season? Make Mango Avocado Salsa of course! This is a very simple recipe and you can use either the larger Florida avocado or the smaller Hass avocado from California or Mexico.
Traditional caribbean spices give this salsa it’s flavor and unique taste. Give it a try if you don’t know what else to do with avocados or mangoes. It’s delicious!
Mango Avocado Salsa
Equipment
- Cutting board or pad
- Knife
- Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 mango diced
- 1 florida avocado or two hass avocados
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped raw onions
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh minced garlic or garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Dice your mango and add to mixing bowl.
- Dice your avocado and add to mixing bowl.
- Dice your onion and add to mixing bowl.
- "Rough" chop your cilantro and add to mixing bowl.
- Add salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic or garlic powder, curry powder and cumin and mix to incorporate.
- Sprinkle two teaspoons worth of lime juice over mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Chill in the fridge for 1 hour and it's ready to serve. If you need to eat it sooner, by all means pull it out after a few minutes of chilling and enjoy!
